Tram Stop Outside Hotel Rembrandt Trams were a very convient way of getting around town. Hotel Rembrandt 1 Our hotel. It was out of the way, but not inconvenient. Our typical day consisted of touring from 9/10am to 4/5pm, then coming back to the hotel to rest for 1-2 hours before going out for dinner. It was light until almost 10:30pm, so dinner late was no problem. Saturday's Lunch_1 Chris and I went to a local organic farmers market on Saturday morning, so we bough lunch. It was tasty, although Chris thought the cheese a little strong. I liked it though. Hotel Rembrandt-Breakfast Room Side Wall 1 Chris with East Indianman Model in Rijksmuseum The museum has one of the largest collections in the world, but most of it was closed for renovation (to be opened in 2008). So we got to see a Egelantiersgracht south from Prinsengracht Canals, and more canals. The houseboats are fairly small, but look like fun. Canalside cafe's are popular and spring up at most major canal corners. Chris at Herengracht and Reguliersgracht with 7 (not all visible) Bridges Beyond 1 We did lots of canal walking. The locals all use these basic cruiser bikes. People even have very small children on them, all without helmets of course. Helen along Herengracht 1 This is one of the larger (wider) canals. Begjinhof Courtyard-E Side This was originally a collection of housese for nuns. However, it is now a very fancy address with all the houses backing onto this yard. It was very quiet. It is only open to the public mornings. We quite enjoyed it.
