Dear Registrant, We look forward to seeing everyone on Feb 6 in Aspen. This Winter Conference will have a record number of participants, about 170! In this email there is infomation on:
If you are not staying at the Meadows and you wish to attend the Reception and/or Banquet, you must reserve a space now. We will add the charge(s) to your bill [whether or not your attend!]. Email aspenconf@dtm.ciw.edu with a subject line "reservation" and specify which event(s) you want ticket(s) for. For those staying at the Meadows, these events are included in the room and board fees. The cost for each will be $38. We will reserve tickets on a first
come, first served basis.
2. UPDATED PROGRAM An updated program is on the website:
(www.astro.northwestern.edu/AspenW05/program.html) showing
invited and contributed talks. All other contributed abstracts can be
presented as posters. We also encourage speakers to bring posters as
well so they can present more details than a 10 minute talk allows. If
you have a last minute result of importance, we will find room for a
short (10 min) contributed talk. Let us know ASAP!
3. POSTERS SHOULD BE "PORTRAIT" FORMAT Posters should be arranged "portrait" not "landscape" so they can be
kept to under 3 feet wide. This is because of space constraints.
4. PRESS CONFERENCE People with newsworthy results who are willing to arrange a press
release with their institutions should contact Fred Rasio
(rasio@northwestern.edu) BY MONDAY JANUARY 31, about participating in
the press conference (Monday Feb 7 at 6pm). We are expecting a number
of local reporters and national science writers.
5. LOCAL INFORMATION Please see the conference website for local information and a map
supplied by the Aspen Center (FAQs). Also, keep checking the website
for last-minute updates as the week of the conference approaches.
6. ROOMMATES NEEDED/WANTED We may have some people still trying to arrange lodging. If you are
interested in sharing a room, whether or not you already have one
booked, please send an email to this address (aspenconf@dtm.ciw.edu)
with the subject "Roommate," and we will share that information with
those who need it.
